International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme at NWSS

New Westminster Schools offers the New Westminster Secondary School (NWSS)  International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) – a challenging curriculum that starts in with the IB DP in Grades 11 and continues through grade 12.

The DP leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities. Many universities provide specific scholarships for DP students and most grant course credit of up to one year. The program prepares highly-motivated students for the rigours of post-secondary education. It encourages students to be active learners, to ask questions and to interact with the world around them in a meaningful way. IB encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

IB Mission Statement

The IB develops inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through education that builds intercultural understanding and respect.
