IB Program Information Night

IB Program Information Night
Thurs. Nov 24th at 6pm – NWSS Library Learning Commons

Students who are currently in grades 8 to 10, and their parents, are invited to join our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme information session on Thursday November 24th. Learn about how the IB program can support all learners: for those interested in getting a jump on their post-secondary opportunities and for those who want to delve deeper into individual courses that spark their passions and interests.

The information session will be held in the NWSS Gym, starting at 6pm.

What is IB? It’s a dynamic, engaging program that supports all kinds of students. It’s a great option for students looking to achieve their post-secondary aspirations, and possibly early university credits while in high school. It can be a great way to help prepare the students for university level classes. For other students it’s a way to engage them more deeply in specific subject matter and courses that interest them.

Here’s what we’ll cover at the meeting:

  • NWSS’s IB Admissions policies and timelines
  • A full review of courses available
  • Outlines the difference between an IB Diploma and our partial course options
  • Find out how we’re continuing to grow our options to offer more pathways to an IB Diploma
  • Discussions of suggested courses for students to take in grades 9 & 10, including the specific IB pre-requisite courses
  • A full outline of the opportunities available to NWSS IB students

Did you know? Research shows that IB students are better prepared for university and are more likely to complete their degree. Learn more about the research and what to expect at the meeting, using this LINK to the official invitation.
