Farewell to NWSS Planning Committee

New Westminster Secondary School is scheduled to close in June 2020. The current historic building, formerly known as Vincent Massey Junior and Lester Pearson High School, has a long and well established history in our community and has faithfully served all the high school students in New Westminster for more than 70 years. A new high school is being built on the premises and will welcome its first class of students in September 2020. NWSS would like to celebrate the important history of this school and the many students, staff and teachers who have walked its halls.

We have invited interested volunteers to join in planning a Farewell Celebration for the current high school. This celebration will honour the current building and will provide an opportunity for all to say farewell to an important chapter in New Westminster history. A planning committee of community members, residents, students past and present, parents, and staff of any year will meet several times over the next couple of months to plan the event. This committee will provide input and create working subgroups that will help carryout the necessary activities to plan and host this exciting community event.
