Semester Turnaround Week – January 23rd-27^th – students are expected to be at school this week.

Monday January 23^rd is the last full day of regular classes.

Tuesday – AM English 12 Provincial exam

Tuesday PM OPEN LEARNING – a late start of 12:15 (unless otherwise indicated on registration forms)

Wednesday – AM –Communications 12 Provincial exam

OPEN LEARNING – sessions start at 9:00 am unless otherwise indicated on registrations.

Wednesday – PM – FRAL 12 Provincial exam

OPEN LEARNING – sessions start at 12:15 unless otherwise indicated on registration forms.

Thursday – Guided Dialogues

What is a Guided Dialogue – students will be assigned times to come to the school based on grade level. During this time, they will engage in a conversations with other students in the same grade. The conversations will be focused on giving feedback about strengths and areas of improvement here at NWSS. This is students’ chance to have a say in initiatives, goals and school culture and climate. A full schedule for this day and registration is available through nwss.ca

Friday – exam conflicts as individually scheduled.

Some additional information:

Open Learning – Students will have the opportunity to register for activities scheduled on these days, examples of the sessions include:

– Passion projects (learn something you’ve always wanted but could never fit into a schedule),

– Study skills sessions,

– Club related activities,

– Cohort activities (IB),

– drop-in tutorial time,

– Enhancement Days (open to all students),

– Preview Sessions (Semester 2 Courses)

– Open gyms and weight room (registration required as space is limited)

– Health and Wellness Activities (Yoga, Introduction to Martial Arts, Salsa Dancing, Film studies, dissections)
